Waypoints
Waypoints in the COROS app
Waypoints are used to mark specific points within a route. They can indicate aid stations, water sources, mountain peaks, or anything of interest. As you are following the route, you can see the distance and elevation gain remaining to the next waypoint.
If you import a route that already includes waypoints, those waypoints will also be displayed in the COROS app, and they can be edited or deleted.
If you are creating a new route or editing an existing one in the COROS app, you can add waypoints at any place along the route.
- Start creating a new route, or click Edit to modify an existing route
- Select the Pin icon
- Tap anywhere close to the route path
- Toggle ON the Waypoint Alert
If you have a Saved Pin on or close to your route, you can transform the it into a waypoint by selecting it, clicking "Add to Route," then clicking "Save as Pin" The Saved Pin icon will then change colors from orange to blue.
Waypoints on your COROS watch
To preview a route and its waypoints on your COROS watch, long-press the Back button from either the main watch face or your activity data page (if you are already tracking an activity). Scroll to the Navigation widget, choose "Select Courses," and select your route. Before starting the route, scroll down to "Sections" to preview the waypoints on that route.
While you are following a route on your COROS watch, if your route has waypoints included, there will be a default screen added to provide waypoint details. Scroll through your activity data pages until you see the waypoint page, which provides the name of the next waypoint along with the distance and elevation gain remaining to that waypoint.
Saved Pins
Unlike waypoints, Saved Pins exist independently from routes, and are synced between your COROS watch and app. You can create Saved Pins from both the watch and app, both during activities and outside of activities.
Viewing your Saved Pins
To access your current Saved Pins, open the COROS app to the Explore page. Open your Route Library and select the Saved Pins option. To delete any unwanted Pins, swipe from right to left on the Pin name.
You can also view nearby Saved Pins directly on your COROS watch. Long-press the Back button to open the toolbox menu, scrolling to the Saved Pin widget, and select "Around Me." You can then view more details about a Pin, including its latitude and longitude coordinates.
Creating Saved Pins in the COROS app
On the Explore page, simply hold and press anywhere on the map to save those coordinates as a Saved Pin. You can also type a name or address in the search bar to jump directly to a specific place, then select "Save as Pin" to add it to your library.
Creating Saved Pins on your watch
Use your COROS watch to save Pins in real-time while tracking an activity, regardless of whether you are already using navigation. This will save the Pin for future reference by automatically syncing it to your COROS app.
- Long press the Back button to open the Toolbox menu.
- Scroll to the Save Pin widget and press the dial to select.
- To mark the saved Pin, a new icon will appear on your current GPS track when accessing the Map view.
- Any Saved Pins created during the activity will remain even if you end the current navigation or start navigating a new route.
- After finishing your activity, the Saved Pin will appear in the GPS track of the activity summary and synced to your Saved Pins in the Explore page.
