Once your map files are downloaded, manually add them to your watch's hard drive by following these steps:
- Plug your COROS watch into a computer via the USB/charging cable. Open your watch's hard drive (it may appear on your desktop as an external disk). Locate the Map folder and open this to view the files inside.
- Next, open the Map files you just downloaded from the COROS website. Topo Maps are located within a "CM" folder, and Landscape maps within an "OSM" folder. Open one of these folders (CM or OSM) to view the downloaded files.
- Drag the downloaded map files into the corresponding folder within your watch hard drive.
- For example, drag all of the files within the downloaded CM folder into the following location of your watch hard drive: Map > CM.
- After dragging the files into your watch's hard drive, make sure the folder structure looks similar to the layout below: Map > CM or OSM > 0 or 1 > etc. If there are duplicate "Map" folders, the maps may not load properly on your watch.
1. Plug your COROS watch into a computer via the USB/charging cable. Open your watch's hard drive (it may appear on your desktop as an external disk). Locate the Map folder and open this to view the files inside.
2. You may see up to three folders inside your watch's Map folder (CM, GM, and OSM). If you open any of these, inside will be a subfolder named 0 or 1.
3. Open the 0 or 1 subfolder. Then highlight the map files you wish to delete from your watch, right-click, and select delete.
How to View Maps on Your COROS Device
If you downloaded both landscape and topographic maps, you can toggle between Landscape, Topo, or Hybrid (both styles) directly on your watch. To do so, go to the System menu > More Settings > Map Style.
- Landscape maps currently provide information such as streets, major road networks, natural features, and waterways. Landscape maps do not include international borders, administrative boundaries, or information on points of interest such as restaurants, gas stations, stores, schools, etc.
- Topo maps are a detailed record of a land area, giving geographic positions and elevations for both natural and man-made features. They show the shape of the land, the mountains, valleys, and plains by means of contour lines (lines of equal elevation above sea level). As you zoom on Topo maps, the contour lines will show detail up to 20m intervals. Please note that Topographic markings are not always viewable on the screen from every zoom distance depending on the elevation profile of where you currently are. If you believe your Topo map is properly installed yet you do not see any markings on your map, zoom in / out, move the map around, and markings should be revealed.
- The hybrid map takes key information from both the Topo and Landscape maps creating an integrated version of the two maps in an easy-to-use format.
During workouts, you can easily access the Map page at any time by long-pressing the Back button, scrolling to the Map widget, and pressing the dial to confirm. Zoom in and out by scrolling with the dial. If your watch supports touch screen capabilities, use your finger to move the map.
