Just as you would with a car, wardrobe, or other material possessions, it is very important to regularly clean and care for your COROS watch/bands. Doing so will help avoid any undesirable situations that may occur due to a lack of proper cleaning. Regular maintenance on your COROS watches assist in avoiding skin irritation, removing the build-up of sweat or debris, ensure proper functionality of the watch hardware (buttons and dial). The tips in the article below will help avoid any undesired situations that may cause issues if the watch is not maintained regularly.
Watch Body
How to Clean
- Rinse under warm running water for 1 minute or longer
- Press the buttons of the watch and spin the dial while rinsing the watch to remove any debris or build-up
- For extreme cases, it may be useful to fully submerge the watch underwater and slowly turn the dial several times to clear out any debris
- Dry thoroughly with paper towels, cloths, etc.
When to Clean
- On a weekly or preferably daily basis, as general maintenance to ensure proper functionality
- After every workout
- If the watch was in or near saltwater
- Any time the watch was exposed to sand, dirt, or other debris such as metal or wood shavings/sawdust
Tips and Recommendations
- Try to clean the watch body as often as possible
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean those hard to reach places on the watch
- Please avoid using any direct chemicals (bleach, non-diluted cleaning agents, etc) to clean the watch
- Avoid letting the watch body come in contact with oils, sunscreens, perfumes, bug repellant/DEET, or other chemicals as this may lead to discoloration or degradation of certain materials on the watch body.
- Do not use any photo or light-emitting disinfectant/cleaning products as this may damage the watch screen or sensors
- If using cloths for drying, please use lint-free cloths to avoid fabric "sticking" in or to the watch
- Do not dry the watch with high heat to avoid hardware damage

- Remove the band from your watch body to wash thoroughly with soap and warm/hot water
- Re-rinse the band with water to ensure all soap has been removed before wearing it again
- Clean with cleaning/disinfectant wipes
- Dry with a towel until there is no moisture remaining on the band

- We do not recommend cleaning the bands in a washer/dryer, however, with low temperatures and by placing the band in a laundry bag you may find this as an option. We are not responsible for any damage that occurred in this process
Skin Care
- Please make sure that your watch and band are dry at all times during wear (outside of activities)
- Use soap and water to clean the skin underneath where you wear the watch after workouts
- Let your skin "breathe" - switching wrists or taking the watch off for brief periods will help avoid excessive contact between your skin and the watch in a very direct area
- If you are not recording an activity, it is okay to wear the watch more loosely to avoid any adverse skin reactions
