Pace3 Activity screen -readability
Usability- Readability
- User: older, originally using Pace2, and staying loyal to the brand just upgraded to Pace3. Mostly a Runner, but also cyclist.
- Environment - all activities, in an activity where checking the screen becomes harder as I get older, eye's focusing,... I have at most 1 second to see the screen
- Most the time the watch is in ambient light, not direct like shown here.
- This was a problem in Pace2 but is worse in Pace3
- The right hand side image is the app''s activity screen editing. It seems very close to the Pace2. left hand side is current Pace3. I use 4 frame most the time (like this). 3 frame in speed work.
- Can nolonger read the middle row (here it's distance and activity time).
- I cannot read the bottom row, white on black -contrast ratio
Recommendations -
- Overall is to reduce white space, and increase font size. For all activity layouts.
- The top row (heart rate) was increased to take up more screen, the top half. Reduce top row height to before, and reduce the font too.
- I know there is a bar graph of intensity, but I'd sacrifice that for the number - or make that number be the color of the bar graph, or the Pace 2 color wheel shown on top before.
- If you reduce the top row the middle row has more room to increase the font size.
- The bottom row is hard to read. Match the other cells - black text on white background.
- Other past ideas:
- The Time readouts like Total time are important to see seconds: 3:00:01 is worse than a 2:59:59 :) When I use a layout that has the space (2 and 4 frame), show the full, and don't truncate to just hour:minutes.
Test User - I'd love to test your changes and give you feedback.

Hi Jmartel3
Thank you so much for detailing your feedback to us. We greatly appreciate the time you take to share your suggestions! I saw your post on Facebook as well, and I will make sure to add the visual you shared there when recording this feedback for our development team to consider.
While we did just introduce a new Activity Data Screen interface in our most recent update, I recognize that your PACE 2 did not have that option available in the firmware. However with the PACE 3, you should have an update available that offers a newer activity interface.
The best way to get involved with our testing is to participate in the public beta phases. The next time we release a firmware update in the beta phase (announced in the COROS Official Facebook Group), I highly encourage you to test it and provide feedback to our developers via the feedback form. We typically reach out to users providing the most detailed and helpful feedback for further testing opportunities. Thanks again for your efforts!1
