    Hi MRA
Thanks for your post, and I am sorry that this information was not clear to you.
DURA functions identically to all of our watches, which all require a phone with the COROS app to set up and use your COROS device.
We do not have plans to update DURA in a way that would allow it to work without a phone connection at this time.
This information can be found here:

    https://support.coros.com/hc/en-us/articles/8157846682516-Can-I-use-my-COROS-watch-without-a-smartphone
Additionally, the information regarding needing a phone with DURA can be found here on our DURA FAQ page.

For guidance on getting started with DURA and setting it up with your COROS app, please reference this article: https://support.coros.com/hc/en-us/articles/26485165860116-Getting-Started

Let me know if there are any further questions I can answer for you.

Yeah, who owns my device? I paid $250 for a cycling computer that I cannot use without download an app, carrying my phone, agreeing to Terms of Service that basically say you can scrap anything and everything you want from my phone. Why don't I just strap my phone to my bars at this point? The COROs doesn't even provide USB file access. So yeah, that's my quesetion, what did I pay $250 for if I cannot use it and is COROS business model selling hardware or monetizing personal data? If there is no intention of making this work without a phone attached I'd like my money back, since it's clear I dont' own the device.

I agree, seems silly that you can't do anything without the app... on the pace 3 you can actually see the storage when connecting via USB, why not expose other useful stuff like the .fit activity files? Garmin does it, I bet you guys could too. The only reason we'd need the app is for AGPS data, but even that could be provided as a file on the website so we can flash it like the software updates.
