Navigation allows you to follow a pre-loaded GPX route on your COROS device. Real time information on heading, elevation and alerts are available to help you stay on track and get back on course if a turn is missed.
Navigation is available in the following activity modes: Run, Trail Run, Bike, Hike, Mountain Climb
Syncing a route to your watch
To use navigation on your COROS device, you will first need to sync a route to your watch. Routes can be created directly within the COROS app on the Explore page, or you can import routes from another platform or race website. Learn more here: How to download and use routes
Select a route to send to your watch by going to the Explore page in the app and opening your route library. Select the route and choose Sync with your watch.

Following a route on your watch
When you are ready to follow a route and track an activity, go to your desired activity mode. Before pressing Start, scroll down and choose Settings > Navigation > select the route.
You can also begin following a route in the middle of an activity, regardless of how much time has already passed. To do so, long press the Back button, scroll to Navigation, and choose your route. Your watch will automatically jump to your current location on the route. Similarly, you can end a route early by following the same steps. After opening the Navigation widget, select End Course.
Before starting a route, you can customize navigation settings:
- Elevation Details: Select this to preview the elevation profile
- Sections: Preview any waypoints on the route
- Direction: Choose between positive or reverse direction
- Deviate Alert: Toggle on alerts to let you know when you go off course. If you are deviated from the route for 20 meters (65 feet) and over 10 seconds, the off-route alert will kick in. If you cannot get back on course soon, the off-route alert will be triggered every minute.
- Turn by Turn (only available in Run and Trail Run mode): Toggle on automatic turn reminders to guide you through the route. When this is enabled, you will see an arrow appear on the watch screen when you are a short distance away from the next turn.
While following a route, an extra page will appear by default to show your position along the route in real-time. Press the dial once on the map page to zoom in and out with the dial. If your watch has touch screen capabilities, you can use your finger to drag and move the map. Press the dial again to scroll away from the map to your regular data pages.
If you need to pause your activity, you can only do so on regular data pages, not the map or elevation pages. On those screens, pressing the dial functions as a zoom feature.
If your route has waypoints, an extra page is automatically added to display the elevation gain and distance to the next waypoint.
To customize the orientation of the map as you are following the route, long press the Back button and scroll to the Map Settings widget. Heading Up will display the current direction of the route you are following in the 12 o'clock position of the watch screen, while North Up will keep north in the 12 o'clock position.
Back to Start
With Back to Start, you can retrace your steps to return to your original starting point, even if you are not already following a route. Long press the Back button, scroll to Navigation, and select Back to Start. The watch will use your previous GPS points to guide you back to the start.
