Your COROS watch can identify and log routes automatically, making your outdoor climb tracking seamless. The Climbing Route Library connects your watch to a database of outdoor climbing routes in the United States to surface route names and grades based on your location, log what you climb automatically, and sync everything to your activity summary when you're done.
Overview
The route detection feature:
- Identifies nearby routes based on your GPS location and allows you to select which route you want to climb
- Automatically records the route name and pitch grade
- Populates your post-climb summary with accurate route data to build a clear history of the routes you've climbed and how your progression develops over time
How to Setup
To use the Climbing Route Library, first download the library to your watch before your next climb.
- Open the COROS app to the Profile page.
- Select your watch. (Supported on COROS NOMAD, APEX 2 Pro, APEX 4, VERTIX 2, and VERTIX 2S)
- Scroll down and select Climbing Route Library. Follow the on-screen steps to download route files to your watch.
How to Find Routes on your COROS Watch
While tracking a climb in Outdoor Climb mode, your watch will automatically detect any known nearby routes whenever you're in the Climb phase.
- If you're currently in the Approach, Rest, or Descent phase, press the dial on your watch and select Climb.
- Based on your current location, your watch will list any nearby known routes.
- Routes are listed in order of difficulty. Use the dial to scroll through and select a route to follow.
- If your current route is not listed, scroll down and select "Unlisted Route" at the bottom. You can edit the route name later in the completed activity summary in the COROS app.
- Your watch will automatically log the route name and pitch grade as you climb. These details will be synced to your finished activity summary - no manual entry needed.
