With Daily Stress, you can now monitor your stress levels throughout the day and overnight, helping you be aware of how your daily life is impacting your stress levels.
Stress is your physical and mental response to both internal and external stimuli. Some level of stress is accumulated from all activities, from a tough workout to simply walking around your home. Even sleeping can accumulate minor stress due to activity in the nervous system, internal organs, etc.
The Daily Stress widget helps you understand your current state of stress at a quick glance, along with monitoring daily and overall trends in your stress levels.
COROS will provide a stress level score between 0 and 100, which corresponds to the following scale:
- 0-25 Resting state, mainly during rest and sleep
- 26-50 Low stress, often during relaxed daily activities
- 51-75 Medium stress, often during moderate physical activity or work that requires full concentration
- 76-100 High stress, often during work that requires full concentration, exercise, or illness
How can I receive a Daily Stress score?
Your watch will automatically monitor Daily Stress as long as you are wearing it. Stress is automatically updated once every 5 minutes, but in order to receive a total stress score for the day, you will need to wear the watch to sleep and for at least 16 consecutive hours. For best results, wear your watch during the day and also at night for the most comprehensive view of your stress trends.
You can also take a manual Stress score by performing the Wellness Check, which you can access from the toolbox menu on your watch. (Long press the Back button from the main watch face to access the toolbox menu.)
Where can I view my Daily Stress score?
Daily Stress can be viewed on your watch and in your COROS app. On the watch, simply scroll down from the main watch face until you reach the Daily Stress widget. Press the dial once to expand the widget and view more details of your stress levels for the current day.
In the COROS app, you can find Daily Stress listed near the bottom of the Progress Page. Tap on the Stress card to access historical information such as monthly and yearly trends.
You can disable Daily Stress during activities by going to the Stress card in the COROS app, then toggling the slider for "activity stress" to OFF. This feature removes all data points taken during activities and redoes the daily stress calculations with them removed. Please note this feature only applies to the data shown in your COROS app. Stress measurements for activities are still shown in the watch widget.
How is Daily Stress calculated?
COROS calculates stress based on two main data inputs: heart rate and HRV (heart rate variability). Both are measured once every 5 minutes with stress tracking is enabled.
When calculating the stress level, your individual baseline level is taken into account. When first measuring stress, it is possible that the initial calculation may be inaccurate, but after wearing the watch for a week, you can receive a more accurate baseline stress level.
FAQ
Your watch records stress automatically, but because this involves taking both HR and HRV measurements every 5 minutes, this will cause the battery drain to increase slightly. Reference the chart below to see the expected battery drain for your watch model.
You can disable Daily Stress by going to System > More Settings > Stress > OFF.
Any sort of movement that impacts your wrist/arm may also impact the Daily Stress measurement. Because heart rate is involved in the Daily Stress calculation, the watch's optical heart rate sensor can be affected by walking, standing up or sitting down, carrying objects, etc. These movements may cause a temporary spike in the stress measurement.
