With Group Tracking, you can form a team of fellow athletes so each team member can view the live location of all other team members along with their activity data (pace, distance, etc.), right in the COROS app. In addition, any team member can send an emergency alert to the others, informing them that they require assistance.
NOTE: In order to use Group Tracking features, your phone must remain within Bluetooth range of your COROS device, with the COROS app running in the background.
Setting Up Group Tracking
To get started, open the COROS app to the Profile page and select Group Tracking. Here you can create a team name, choose your desired bike mode, and add a route (optional). To invite other team members, select the plus icon in the top right corner. A link will be generated that you can copy or send via text message. In order to accept the invite, the athlete must also be a COROS user. They can join the group bike activity via their DURA or COROS watch (by tracking a bike mode).
Once all athletes have joined the team and you are ready to begin tracking the group activity, press "Start" at the bottom of the team page and select the device you wish to use to track the activity. You will be brought to a Start screen in the app where you can see which team members are ready. To begin tracking the activity, press Start on your COROS DURA.
Using Group Tracking
Once all team members have started recording the activity on their COROS devices, you can view your location and data on the COROS app in real time, along with your teammates' location and data:
- Go to the Profile page > select Group Tracking > select your team > View friends' location.
- Or, go to the Progress page > select the Extender button in the top left corner.
Follow team members: Your distance, speed, and activity time are automatically shown at the bottom of the group tracking page in the app. From this page, you can also select any of your team members' icons and click "Follow" to track their stats in real time and see how far away they are from your current location.
On DURA, you can view the list of teammates and the route you are currently following by scrolling to the map page. (This page is automatically added when using Group Tracking.)
Using the touchscreen on DURA, you can tap on the group icon in the top right corner. Here you can select to follow one of your team members. Press the Back/Lap button to return to the map page, and you can now view real-time data from that team member at the bottom of the screen.
Update the route: If you are the group leader, you can swap the current route with a new route to send to your other team members. To do so, click on the multi-person icon on the right side of the Group Tracking screen, then select the "Route and Checkpoint" menu. Click "Replace" next to the route listed for your group. After you select a new route, this will send a prompt to all team members' COROS devices asking them to confirm to follow the new route.
Add a meeting point: Create a checkpoint for your group to organize a meeting spot. To do so, click on the multi-person icon on the right side of the Group Tracking screen, then select the "Route and Checkpoint" menu. If you are following a route that already has checkpoints included, you can see them listed here. Select "Add Checkpoint" to create a new point, and this will be synced to all team members' COROS devices.
Leave the group: If you wish to leave group tracking but continue recording your activity, navigate back to the Group Tracking page in the app and select "Exit Location Sharing."
