To ensure the COROS App and your device(s) have access to the most updated features available, we recommend that you routinely check for new app updates from your phone's app store, and new firmware updates for your device from the Profile page of your COROS app. You can also hear about new updates first by visiting the COROS Stories page on our website. Announcements for all historical updates can be found there, along with detailed descriptions of the newest features now available.
Updating the COROS App
Updates to the COROS App can be made by visiting the Apple Store or Google Play store on your phone or smart device. Search for the COROS App within the store, and then check for options to perform an update. If you do not see any options to update the COROS App shortly after an update has been announced, please remain patient as updates are released to our global community on a rolling basis.
COROS Support Insights
COROS users will have access to the newest app firmware version at different dates and times, dependent on the region in which they reside. We work diligently to ensure our global community has access to our latest features as soon as possible, and will continue to provide estimates in terms of when your specific region should gain access.
Updating Your COROS Device
Once the COROS app has received its newest update, you can now proceed with updating eligible COROS devices. If new firmware version is available for your device, you will either receive a notification when opening the COROS App, or you will notice an icon next to the image of your watch under the "My Devices" section of the Profile Page.
To update your COROS device, please follow the instructions below:
- Open the COROS App and sync your device
- Navigate to the Profile Page of the COROS App
- Tap on the image of your device under the heading "My Devices."
- Tap on the option "Firmware Version"
- If new firmware is available for your device, choose whether to perform the update via Bluetooth or Wifi.
Do not close out of the COROS App on your phone or smart device while the download is being performed, as this could interrupt the data transfer process. Download via Wifi will provide faster download speeds, but is only available for select COROS devices. Please perform the download via Bluetooth if this is the only option available.
Once the download is complete, sync your device with the COROS App and enjoy the latest features now available!
Additional Considerations
Please be aware that all smart watches and devices have an internal capacity in terms of the amount of data that can be stored. Therefore, each device will eventually reach it's internal limit, and will be ineligible to receive any further downloads. App updates will continue to be available, but depending on your device model you may not see firmware updates always follow app updates.
In addition, users are unable to downgrade firmware or choose which features they would like to receive on their watch. Each firmware release is specific to each watch model, and builds from one update to the next. Therefore, downgrading firmware / removing features could inhibit other functionalities offered by our products, thereby potentially compromising the overall user experience.
We place a considerable effort on maximizing the longevity of our products, and ensuring each one remains relevant and updated for as long as possible.
