Updating the COROS App and Your Devices

To stay up to date with the latest features and keep your COROS app and device(s) operating smoothly, we recommend checking for app updates in your phone's app store and firmware updates on your COROS app's Profile page. Visit the COROS Stories page on our website to see all our latest (and past) feature updates explained in detail.

Updating the COROS App

Updates to the COROS App can be made by visiting the Apple Store or Google Play store on your smartphone. Search for the COROS App within the store, and then check for options to perform an update.

Why don't I see the latest update available? App updates are released on a rolling basis, so it may take a few days shortly after an update is announced before it is available to all users.

Updating Firmware on Your COROS Device

A new firmware version may be available for your COROS device after updating the COROS app. To update your device firmware:

  1. Open the COROS app to the Profile page.
  2. If an "Update Now" button appears at the top of the page, select this. Otherwise, select your device, then scroll down and open the "Firmware Version" menu.
  3. Choose to update via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Direct Transfer.

Firmware update via Bluetooth: This option is available for all COROS devices. Updating firmware via Bluetooth takes the most amount of time and requires your phone and COROS device remain within Bluetooth range during the upgrade process.

Firmware update via Wi-Fi: This option is available for some COROS devices. If your device is not already connected to a Wi-Fi network, you will be prompted to select one and enter the password in the COROS app. COROS devices can connect to 2.4 GHz frequencies (5 GHz networks and captive portals are not supported).

Firmware update via Direct Transfer: This option is available for some COROS devices. This is the fastest way to update your device, and you are able to use your COROS app for background tasks during the upgrade process.

FAQs

Why don't I see the latest app update available?

App updates are released on a rolling basis, so it may take a few days shortly after an update is announced before it is available to all users.

Why isn't a firmware update available for my device?

All devices have an internal capacity in terms of the amount of data that can be stored. Therefore, each device will eventually reach its internal limit, and will be ineligible to receive any further downloads. App updates will continue to be available, but depending on your device model you may not see firmware updates always follow app updates. With each feature update, we will communicate which devices are eligible to receive certain features in our feature update blog.

Can I downgrade my device's firmware?

No, users are unable to downgrade firmware or choose which features to receive within a certain firmware version. Each firmware release is specific to each watch model, and builds from one update to the next. Downgrading firmware and/or removing features could inhibit other functions and potentially compromise future updates and the overall user experience.
