Receive Voice Alerts During Activities

*Available on PACE 3, PACE 4, PACE Pro, COROS NOMAD, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro, APEX 4, APEX 4, VERTIX 2, VERTIX 2S, DURA

Receive real-time voice alerts and audio updates during activities, so you can remain focused on your workout. The voice alert feature will broadcast activity alerts, laps, workout details, turn alerts, and more.

Either pair your headphones with your COROS watch or your smartphone (required for DURA), or receive voice alerts from your phone's speakers instead - ideal for indoor activities or situations where headphones are unavailable. Please ensure the COROS app is open and running in the background in order to play voice alerts from your phone speaker.

How to Enable Voice Alerts on COROS Watches

  1. Open any activity mode on your COROS watch. (Ski and Snowboard modes are not currently supported.)
  2. Before starting the activity, scroll down and select "Voice Alert". Toggle this ON.
  3. If compatible Bluetooth headphones are available, select "Connect Headphones"
    • If you are connecting compatible Bluetooth headphones with your watch for the first time, please ensure the headphones are in Active Pairing Mode to establish the connection with your watch.
    • If headphones have already been connected to your COROS watch, ensure they are powered on, fully charged and are within connection range of your watch.
  4. Choose your "Audio Output" preferences
    • Headphones Only: Voice alerts will only be played if headphones are detected, either paired directly to your watch or to your connected smartphone.
    • Always On: Voice alerts will use headphones if they are detected. If no headphones are detected, they will be played from your phone's speaker.
    • Watch Speaker: On APEX 4, you can choose this option for voice alerts to play directly from your watch speaker.
      • Note: If your watch detects headphones paired to your phone, the alerts will default to playing through the headphones.
  5. Press the Back button to return to the activity screen, and press Start to begin using Voice Alerts.

FAQs

Can I listen to music or podcasts and hear Voice Alerts at the same time?

Yes. On COROS NOMAD, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro, APEX 4, APEX 4, VERTIX 2, VERTIX 2S: Any music currently playing will be paused for the duration of the Voice Alert, and will resume after the alert ends. On PACE 3 and PACE Pro, the volume of music will be lowered but not paused completely.

My device is frozen while downloading the voice files pack. How can I fix this?

The Wi-Fi search may take up to 3 minutes, and during this time, you are not able to exit the Wi-Fi search. Please wait until the Wi-Fi connects successfully or times out.

Why are some Voice Alerts interrupted by other ones?

Voice alerts may interrupt each other. More important reminders will interrupt less important ones; this is intentional.

Why are some Voice Alerts incomplete or missing words?

There is a compatibility issue with some headphones, and our team is working to resolve this in a future update. Currently, there is a known issue with Vivo headphones specifically. We recommend changing your headphone settings to play music in AAC format. Please reference your headphones user manual to do so, or contact our support team for assistance.

Why didn't I hear a Voice Alert even though I was running outside of my target zone during a workout?

If you are outside the target range for a short duration, you'll see a prompt on the watch screen. If you are outside this range for a longer time (at least 30 seconds), you'll receive an alert via the watch screen and voice alerts. If you remain outside the range for an additional 30 seconds longer, you'll receive another alert via the watch screen and voice alerts. If you remain outside the range for over 1 minute, the voice alert will not be repeated, and the alert will show on the watch screen only.
