PACE 4 Maps
Global topographic and landscape maps are now available on PACE 4, including street and trail names and points of interest (POIs). To download maps to your PACE 4, open your COROS app to the Profile page > select PACE 4 > select Map Manager. Learn more about using maps on PACE 4 in this article.
Emoji Support for Notifications
COROS watches now support the most popular emojis in notifications, with expanded support for more emojis coming soon.
Cycling VO2Max
Your cycling fitness now gets a deeper level of insight. Cycling VO2 Max is calculated from your riding data and displayed on your watch and your FTP card in the app. This gives you a fuller picture of your aerobic engine beyond FTP alone, and a way to track cycling fitness trends over time.
Reorganized Run Menus
Activity settings are now easier to adjust from the start screen of running modes. Related settings are grouped together, so options that work together are easy to find. The settings used most often for each run mode appear near the top, like Navigation in Trail Run mode, or Activity Alerts for regular Run mode.
Expanded Passcode Support
Passcodes are now available on PACE 3, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro, VERTIX 2, and VERTIX 2S. To set up a passcode that locks your watch when it's off your arm for more than a minute, go to System > More Settings > Passcode. Learn more about using Passcodes here.
Storm Alerts on DURA
In the event of an incoming storm, DURA can now alert you when the barometer detects a significant drop in air pressure. To enable this feature, go to System > More Settings > Storm Alert.
Additional Updates
Maximum HR detection during run workouts: If your HR during a run indicates your max HR may be higher than the current value in your profile, you'll have the option to accept this updated measurement and apply it to your settings for even more accurate fitness data going forward.
Hill Alert algorithm optimizations: Trail Running routes now use a stricter hill classification, so only steeper climbs get labeled. If your route is classified as a trail running route, the algorithm will only identify hills that reach a minimum distance and have an average grade of at least 3% (versus 2% for road running).
Effort Pace algorithm optimizations: Effort Pace now more accurately reflects your effort by detecting whether you're walking or jogging. Walking will produce a less inflated pace, whether you're heading uphill or downhill. Additionally, once the downhill gradient reaches -10% or steeper, running will begin to produce a faster Effort Pace than before, reflecting the added difficulty and load that steep downhill running places on the body.
Battery Health page optimizations in the app
Lap Torque data metric added for cycling activities
Heart Rate Recovery can now be viewed on your lap summary table for rest intervals after completing a structured workout in eligible activity modes (previously it was only available for running workouts).
