XC (Cross Country) Ski

XC Ski mode is designed for flatter or rolling terrain where you are skiing continuously across snow, often on groomed trails, using your own movement the whole time. This mode is ideal to record your cross country or Nordic skiing.

Activity Alerts

Before pressing Start, scroll down to Activity Alerts to customize alerts for distance, speed, cadence, heart rate, and nutrition. Anytime you are outside of the preset zone (or when you have reached the elapsed time for your next nutrition alert), the watch will alert you while continuing to track your activity.

Navigation

If you have routes synced to your COROS watch, you can follow them in XC Ski mode from the Navigation menu. After choosing a route, you can preview the elevation details, set up a Deviate Alert to let you know if you go off course, and customize your preferences for the route direction and map orientation.

Auto Lock

Prevent any accidental pauses or watch operation by customizing Auto Lock for XC Ski mode. This can help in situations where your gloves, sleeve, or jacket may cause accidental button presses. Any settings customized here will not change the Auto Lock setting for other activity modes (determined by the System > More Settings > Auto Lock menu).

Within XC Ski mode, you have the following options for Auto Lock:

  • Use system settings: This follows the setting you've chosen in the System > More Settings > Auto Lock menu, which covers all other activity modes.
  • Scroll to unlock: Scroll the dial a full revolution to unlock the watch screen.
  • Press to unlock: Long-press the dial for several seconds to unlock the watch screen.
  • Off: Auto Lock is disabled.

Voice Alerts

The voice alert feature will broadcast activity alerts, laps, workout details, and more either directly from your watch (on supported models), your phone speaker, or your headphones. Check out our guide on using Voice Alerts.

Structured Workouts

You can create or download workouts to follow in XC Ski mode, and your COROS watch will guide you through each stage of the workout in real time, from warm up, to intervals, to cool down. Click here for a guide on creating your own ski workout, or head to the Profile page in your COROS app and open the Workout Library to browse official workouts.
