What is Extender?
The Extender feature lets your watch and the COROS app work in tandem during activities, displaying real-time data from your watch directly on your phone screen.
With Extender, you can easily monitor your heart rate during treadmill runs or bike trainer sessions, record Pins and capture route photos, and enjoy a clearer view of maps and navigation for hikes and outdoor adventures.
How Do I Use Extender During My Activity?
When your COROS device is tracking an activity, a preview of Extender will appear on the first page of the COROS app. Select this to open Extender and view your current activity data in real-time.
Using Extender with Outdoor Activities
Extender is ideal for outdoor scenarios where you need to view a real-time map of your surroundings, follow navigation, or record landmarks and photos for your Adventure Journal.
While tracking an activity, open Extender from the first page in your COROS app. Your watch data is mirrored to you in real-time in an expanded version. This includes a track of where you've already traveled, and your upcoming route if you are using navigation.
By default, three data metrics are shown at the bottom of the page. To customize these, select the layers icon in the top right corner, then select Data. The available data metrics may differ between activity modes, depending on the type of data supported (such as speed for cycling, and pace for running).
Within the same menu, you can also customize the map source (Mapbox or Google Maps) along with the map style (satellite, default, etc.).
Add photos and videos: To take a photo at any point during your activity, press the camera icon on the right side of the screen. Select the white button to take a picture, or press and hold for a video. Tap the red Save button to save the image to your phone's camera roll and to your COROS account. The new image will appear on your position along the route.
Select the image to add notes, move the image to a new location on the map, or delete it.
Record Voice Pins: With Extender open, select the Pin icon on the right side of the screen. Press and hold the record button and speak into your phone to save your voice note. Edit the name of your new voice pin and add any photos or videos.
Record Pins to save notable locations: During your activity, you can save specific points along your route such as water fountains, camping spots, or other points of interest to remember for future use.
To drop a new pin, select the Pin icon on the right side of the screen. Add a name, description, and icon for your new pin. You can also take an image or upload one from your camera roll to save with the pin.
Using Extender with Indoor Activities
For indoor workouts, Extender makes it easier to view and interpret your activity data. Whether cycling on a trainer, running on a treadmill, or lifting in the gym, you can go beyond wrist-only metrics for a clearer picture of your session.
Customize how the data is displayed by tapping "settings" in the upper righthand corner of the screen, and add up to 10 data fields displaying real-time information collected from your watch. Change the orientation of these data fields while in settings by tapping and holding down on the 6-dots towards the right of each option, and then drag and drop each option in the order you would like to have it displayed.
