What is Extender?
The Extender feature will allow your watch and the COROS App to work in tandem with one another during activity; displaying the information collected by the watch in real-time on your smart device, and enhancing your overall training experience.
Use the Extender feature to better see your heart rate readings whether you are on the treadmill or the bike trainer, more easily view maps and navigation during your hikes and outdoor sports, and so much more.
How Do I Use Extender During My Activity?
At the onset of activity, the watch icon on the Progress Page of the COROS App will transition to the Extender button. Once this change is seen, tap on this button to see your current activity data displayed to you in real-time.
Using Extender with Indoor Activities
In situations where your workouts have been brought indoors, use the Extender feature to more comfortably interpret your activity data. Whether cranking out miles on an indoor bike trainer, covering ground on a treadmill, or working through your strength routine in the gym, know that you no longer have to rely solely on the data seen from the wrist to guide your session.
Customize how the data is displayed by tapping "settings" in the upper righthand corner of the screen, and add up to 10 data fields displaying real-time information collected from your watch. Change the orientation of these data fields while in settings by tapping and holding down on the 6-dots towards the right of each option, and then drag--drop each option in the order you would like to have it displayed, and once complete, tap "Save."
Using Extender with Outdoor Activities
Going for a run in a new city? Want to have a better understanding of your surroundings while exploring a new trail system? Use the Extender feature to populate a real-time map on your smart device, and head out on your new adventure.
Choose between three different map types by tapping the layer icon in the upper righthand corner of the screen, and have your route displayed in the format that will allow you to best interpret your surroundings. And when relying on turn-by-turn directions, have your instructions rendered clearly on your phone to prevent any accidental turnarounds.
If you are exploring the map to check out potential landmarks in your area, know that you can quickly reestablish your bearings by tapping on the navigation icon to return you to your current location on the map, or tap the compass icon to reorientate the map according to magnetic north.
By default, three metrics are displayed at the bottom of the screen when using Extender for outdoor activities. These default metrics are not customizable, and the metrics may differ between activity modes. For example, Run mode will display activity time, heart rate, and pace while Bike mode will display distance, speed, and activity time.
