How to Charge Your COROS Watch

PACE 2/PACE 3/PACE Pro/COROS NOMAD/APEX/APEX Pro/APEX 2/APEX 2 Pro/VERTIX/VERTIX 2/VERTIX 2S:

If using the standard COROS charging cable, follow these steps:

  • Plug the charging cable into a USB-A power brick, computer, or power bank that provides a consistent 5 watt (5V with a current of 1A) output. Do not use a power source with fast-charge capabilities.
  • Connect the charging cable to the back of your COROS watch. Ensure it is fully inserted. The cable is not magnetic and will not snap in automatically.

If using the A1 charging adapter, follow these steps:

  • Connect the adapter to the back of your watch. The adapter will lie flush against the back of the watch.
  • Next, plug in a standard USB-C cable to the other end of the charging adapter.
  • Connect your USB-C cable to a power brick, computer, or power bank that provides a consistent 5 watt (5V with a current of 1A) output. Do not use a power source with fast-charge capabilities.

PACE Pro/COROS NOMAD:

  • Connect the A2 adapter to the back of your watch. The adapter will lie flush against the back of the watch.
Next, plug in a standard USB-C cable to the other end of the charging adapter.
  • Connect your USB-C cable to a power brick, computer, or power bank that provides a consistent 5 watt (5V with a current of 1A) output. Do not use a power source with fast-charge capabilities.

PACE 1:

  • With two fingers, squeeze the clip open and attach it to the side of your PACE 1. Make sure the metal pins from the watch and cable are in contact.
  • Plug the charging cable into a USB-A power brick, computer, or power bank that provides a consistent 5 watt (5V with a current of 1A) output. Do not use a power source with fast-charge capabilities.

Which cable is compatible with my watch?

Can I charge my watch during activities?

Yes. COROS watches support charging during activity tracking. Charging will not interfere, stop, or restart your ongoing workouts.

Troubleshoot Charging Issues

If your COROS watch can't power on even while charging, please follow the steps below:

  • Charge your watch for over 2 hours even if the screen doesn’t turn on.
  • Remove the charging cable or adapter from the watch (this step is very important).
  • Press and hold the Power button for over 15 seconds or until the COROS logo shows up.
    • PACE - lower left button (CONFIRM button)
    • PACE 2, PACE 3, PACE 4, PACE Pro - lower right button (BACK button)
    • COROS NOMAD - lower right button (BACK button)
    • APEX - top button (Digital Dial)
    • APEX Pro, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro - top button (LIGHT button)
    • VERTIX, VERTIX 2, VERTIX 2S - middle button (Digital Dial)
  • Important: Do not press multiple buttons on your COROS watch at the same time. Otherwise, the COROS watch will enter Inactive mode and will not respond to normal operation or charging. Please power off the watch if you plan to stop using it - main watch face → System → More Settings → Turn Off.

If the watch can’t maintain a stable charging status, please check if the power outlet voltage is too high/low. Switch over to a computer or a standard USB power adapter and try again.

Also check if the metal pins are clear of debris. Disconnect the cable from power and rinse the watch and the cable. Let them air dry and try again.

Best Practices

We recommend using a 5V/1A charger with LPS international certification for safe and efficient charging.

Your watch includes a built-in protection circuit that automatically limits the charging current it receives, so there is no risk of damage from a higher-output charger. Additionally, because COROS watches do not support fast-charge protocol handshaking, any fast charger will default to a maximum output of 1.5A (7.5W).

Chargers rated below 1A are not recommended. Low-rated chargers (particularly those at 0.5A or under) may deliver less current than specified, resulting in significantly longer charge times or failure to be recognized by the watch. While an underpowered charger presents no risk to the watch itself, it may sustain damage over time. A charger that cannot deliver sufficient current will remain in a continuous working state without completing a charge cycle, generating excess heat that can lead to charger damage. Always use an LPS-certified charger meeting the specifications above.
