COROS watches rely on the barometer for elevation readings. It converts the air pressure readings to elevation. Longer outdoor workouts are prone to be affected by changes of air pressure even if the elevation remains the same.
Factors listed below may affect the elevation readings on the elevation widget.
- Natural changes in the air pressure throughout the day
- Weather changes
- Pressurized environments
- Heaters and air conditioners
- Submerged in water
- Strong wind
- Dust/dirt in the sensor
It is recommended to calibrate the elevation during daily tracking via GPS or manually input on a regular basis. COROS watches automatically calibrate the elevation using GPS during outdoor workouts to ensure the best accuracy.
Please follow the step below to calibrate the elevation on your watch.
- Main watch face → System → Sensors → Calibration → Elevation → Use GPS | Enter Elevation.
- Make sure to stand in an open field when calibrating the elevation using GPS for the best accuracy.
Please clean the barometer sensor on the watch with running water or air duster to ensure accurate elevation readings. Do not use any sharp objects to clean the sensor, such as a toothpick or safety pin.
