Triathlon Mode is designed for any workout or race that includes three activities separated by two transitions. By default, the activities are set to Open Water Swim → Road Bike → Run.
Setting Up Triathlon Mode
If you need to change the order or the activity types in Triathlon mode, scroll down and select Custom from the start screen. Select the sport you’d like to modify, and choose from Run, Road Bike, Open Water Swim, or Pool Swim. You can mix and match these to fit your race or training session.
Navigation: Navigation is fully supported within Triathlon mode, so you can follow routes throughout your event.
Activity Alerts: Activity alerts can be used within Triathlon mode. From the Triathlon settings menu, you can only toggle activity alerts on or off. To customize the activity alerts for a specific activity (such as Run or Road Bike), you will need to go back to the main activity menu and select that activity mode to customize the alerts there. Your new settings will apply when that sport is used within Triathlon mode.
Using Transitions
Triathlon mode automatically includes two transitions. Transition 1 is between Activity 1 and Activity 2. Transition 2 is between Activity 2 and Activity 3.
To transition between activities, press the dial once and select Transition. Your watch will begin tracking transition time. If you advance by mistake, you can press the Back button while in transition to return to the previous activity.
When you’re ready to start the next activity, press the dial again. Repeat this process for Transition 2. After your final activity, press the dial and finish the workout as usual.
