All COROS watches support sleep tracking, and the sleep algorithm used to collect this data will depend on your particular watch model. For best results, please ensure the device's optical heart rate sensor has been set to collect "Real-Time" heart rate data. To set this configuration, please follow the steps below:
- Press the back/lap button to access the toolbox menu.
- Scroll the dial and select "System"
- Scroll and select "Sensors"
- Select "Optical HR"
- Select "Daily HR"
- Set to "Real-Time"
PACE 3, PACE Pro, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro, VERTIX 2, VERTIX 2S
Your COROS watch automatically recognizes and tracks sleep 24 hours a day. Your watch will also give you insights into your sleep quality and sleep stages. Sleep lasting more than 3 hours will receive an overall sleep quality assessment and have sleep stages recorded, while any sleep that lasts less than 3 hours will be categorized as a nap. Learn more about tracking naps here.
When your COROS watch detects that you are sleeping, the device will enter Sleep Mode, an automatic setting that quiets the watch to minimize disruptions. During Sleep Mode, gesture backlight and notifications are disabled.
Sleep Display
If you see a dimmed Sleep Display on the watch face, this indicates you are currently within your set sleep hours (between your Sleep Time and Wake Time listed in your app's sleep settings).
Your watch will automatically show the Sleep Display when it reaches your Sleep Time listed in the app. Your watch will exit Sleep Display and return to your normal watch face at the following times: 1) Your Wake Time has been reached; 2) Your watch has been tracking sleep and detects that you have woken up prior to your Wake Time.
Please ensure you have an accurate Sleep Time and Wake Time specified in the COROS app. To do so, open the app to the Profile page > Settings > Sleep Settings. (Note: The times are in 24-hour format.)
You can disable the Sleep Display from the Profile page > Settings > Sleep Settings > Sleep Display > OFF. This will not impact sleep tracking. It will simply disable the Sleep Display watch face from appearing during your sleep hours.
Please ensure you have an accurate Sleep Time and Wake Time specified in the COROS app. To do so, open the app to the Profile page > Settings > Sleep Settings. (Note: The times are in 24-hour format.)
For best results, make sure to wear the watch properly on your wrist so that the heart rate sensor can detect your heart rate to monitor your sleep status. The sleep tracking will be affected if the watch is loosely worn or if your arm has frequent movements. HRV is continuously measured in 10-minute intervals during sleep.
If you find that your watch has inaccurately entered Sleep Mode, or has not yet exited Sleep Mode after you've woken up, you can manually toggle this mode off/on. Long-press the Back button, scroll to the Control Center, and scroll to Sleep Mode to adjust the setting.
Yes. Separate sleep periods within the same day will be tracked. Two sleep periods will be merged if the following criteria are met:
- There is a gap of 1 hour or less in between the sleep periods.
- There are no obvious activities (workouts, steps) in between the sleep periods.
Yes. Any sleep that lasts less than 3 hours will be categorized as a nap. Learn more about tracking naps here.
PACE 2, APEX Pro, VERTIX
Your COROS watch tracks sleep based on the sleep settings listed in your COROS app. To receive the most accurate sleep tracking, please follow the guidelines below:
- Set up the sleep start time on the COROS app as close to when you actually fall asleep as possible.
- COROS app > Profile page > Settings > Sleep Time.
- Please note: The sleep time is in 24-hour format. If you sleep at 9pm, the sleep time should be 21:00.
- COROS app > Profile page > Settings > Sleep Time.
- Wear the watch properly on your wrist so that the HR sensor can detect your heart rate to monitor your sleep status. The sleep tracking will be affected if the watch is loosely worn or your arm has frequent movements. HRV is continuously measured in 10-minute intervals during sleep.
- The watch will start checking if you are asleep two hours before the sleep start time. If you fall asleep 30 minutes prior to the sleep start time, the sleep tracking will start 30 minutes before.
- Your COROS watch will continue tracking your sleep even if you take bathroom breaks within the first 6 hours from the time when the watch detects that you are asleep.
-
When you have two separate sleep periods, after the first wake-up, the watch will detect sleep patterns for the next 5 hours. If you fall asleep again within 5 hours, the next sleep period will be recorded, no matter how long it is. If you fall asleep for the second time after 5 hours, the sleep period will not be recorded.
- Your watch will continue tracking your sleep even if you wake up in the middle of the night. If you fall asleep again within 5 hours of waking up, the watch will continue to track your sleep patterns. But if you fall asleep after 5 hours, then the sleep period will not be recorded.
The Sleep Display setting in your app does not affect PACE 2, APEX Pro, and VERTIX.
