Only Receiving Call and Text Notifications on Android

If your COROS watch only receives phone call and text message notifications but not app notifications (such as WhatsApp, Gmail, or social media), follow the steps below to fix this on your Android phone.

Step 1: Enable Notification Access for the COROS App

The COROS app needs system-level notification access to forward app notifications to your watch.

  • Most Android phones: Settings → Apps → Special App Access → Notification Access → COROS → Enable
  • Samsung (One UI): Settings → Apps → COROS → Notifications → Allow notification access, or Settings → Notifications → Advanced settings → Notification access → COROS
  • Google Pixel: Settings → Notifications → Device & app notifications → COROS → Enable
  • OnePlus / OPPO (ColorOS): Settings → Notifications & status bar → Notification access → COROS

If you cannot find this setting, search "notification access" in your phone's Settings search bar.

Step 2: Choose Which Apps Send Notifications to Your Watch

In the COROS app, you can control which apps forward notifications to your watch:

  1. Open the COROS app.
  2. Go to the Device page (tap your watch image on the Profile page).
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Enable notifications for the apps you want to receive on your watch.

Step 3: Disable Battery Optimization for COROS

Android may restrict the COROS app from running in the background, which prevents notifications from being forwarded.

  • Most Android phones: Settings → Battery → Battery Optimization → COROS → Don't Optimize
  • Samsung: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Background usage limits → Never sleeping apps → Add COROS
  • Google Pixel: Settings → Apps → COROS → Battery → Unrestricted

Step 4: Check Do Not Disturb

Make sure Do Not Disturb (DND) is turned off on both your phone and your watch. DND on either device can block notifications.

  • On your phone: Pull down the notification shade and make sure DND is off.
  • On your watch: Go to Toolbox → Control Center → DND and make sure it is off.

Still Not Working?

If notifications are still not coming through after completing all steps above:

  1. Force close the COROS app and reopen it.
  2. Toggle Bluetooth off and on again on your phone.
  3. Restart both your phone and your watch.
  4. If the issue persists, try removing your watch from the COROS app and re-pairing it.
