Passcodes

Available on PACE 4, PACE Pro, COROS NOMAD, APEX 4

To keep your information safe, you can set up a Passcode that locks your watch. If the watch is off your arm for more than a minute without any interaction, it will require entering a code to view any data.

You can set a passcode directly on your watch, or using your COROS app:

  • On your COROS watch: Go to System > More Settings > Passcode. Enter a 4-digit PIN to secure your watch.
  • In the COROS app: Open the Profile page, select your watch, and scroll down to Passcode. Follow the in-app guide to create your new passcode.

FAQs

Can the Passcode lock be disabled during activities?

Yes. By disabling Activity Lock, your watch won't prompt you to enter the passcode during activity tracking. This can helpful for activities where you might wear the watch over a sleeve, and the sensor is not sitting directly against the skin. To do so, go to System > More Settings > Passcode > Activity Lock.

Why is my watch requiring me to enter the passcode when I'm wearing it?

If this happens, we recommend adjusting the watch on your wrist by tightening the band slightly and wearing it higher up your arm, away from the wrist bone. A more secure fit will help the watch better detect when it's being worn.

Why can't I enter my passcode using the touchscreen?

Touchscreen is supported for Passcodes. If it's not working, it's usually because Auto Lock is enabled or because the Touchscreen has been turned off.

  1. You will need to first unlock the watch (if Auto Lock is enabled) by long-pressing or scrolling the dial.
  2. Then you can enter the Passcode to access your watch functions.
  3. Go to System > More Settings > Touchscreen and ensure the touch screen is set to Always On.
  4. The next time the passcode screen appears, you can enter your passcode via touch.
Why do I have to unlock my watch (via Auto Lock) before I can enter my passcode?

This happens when both Passcode and Auto Lock are enabled at the same time. The watch requires you to unlock the screen first before it displays the passcode screen. This is by design: iit prevents accidental inputs from triggering too many incorrect passcode attempts, which could lock the device entirely. If you find this two-step process inconvenient, consider turning off Auto Lock for Standby mode.

I forgot my passcode, or my device is completely locked after too many wrong attempts. What should I do?

You can recover your device in the following ways:

  • Reset via COROS app: After too many incorrect attempts, the COROS app will automatically show a passcode reset prompt. Follow the in-app instructions to create a new passcode. Once this is complete, your watch will be unlocked.
  • Reset via Profile page: You can reset your watch's passcode anytime through the COROS app > Profile page > select your watch > scroll down to Passcode.
  • Factory reset (only recommended as a last resort, if the watch cannot connect to the app): You can tap "Remove Device" from the device page in the COROS app, or select "Factory Reset" from the lock prompt on the watch. Note that after a factory reset, the passcode is removed, but any activity data that isn't yet synced to the app may be lost, since the watch is restored to factory settings.
