Heart Rate Recovery

Heart Rate Recovery refers to how quickly your heart rate decreases over a certain period after exercising. It can be an important indicator of cardiac function and physical recovery efficiency.

COROS calculates your HR Recovery at the following times:

  • All activities (automatic): Recorded for 2 minutes after exercise ends.
  • Structured run workouts (automatic): During each rest phase, from the start to the end of the phase.

Where to View Your HR Recovery

All activities: Your watch automatically measures HR Recovery for the first 2 minutes after your session ends. The 2 minute window starts from the final time you pause your activity. You can view your HR Recovery in the activity summary in the COROS app, where it's displayed as a data graph. If you see straight lines or missing data in your HR Recovery graph, that indicates your watch had weak or no heart rate signal at those times.

During structured workouts and Basic Interval mode (running): In addition to the post-exercise measurement above, your watch also tracks HR Recovery during each Rest phase of a run workout. To view your results, open the activity summary in the COROS app and scroll down to the lap details section near the bottom. Tap anywhere on the lap details to expand the table in landscape mode, where you'll see a dedicated column for HR Recovery.

You can also view the status of the 2-minute HR Recovery in real time, directly on your watch. Any time your activity is paused, you can press the dial and scroll down to the HR Recovery menu, showing you a preview of the recovery measurement in real time.
