Climbing Route Detection
*Available on COROS NOMAD, APEX 2 Pro, APEX 4, VERTIX 2/2S
Tracking your climbs is more seamless than ever. There's no longer any need to remember every route name and pitch after your session. Just climb, and let your COROS record these details for you automatically.
Connect your watch to a library of outdoor climbing routes to surface route names and grades based on your location, log what you climb automatically, and sync everything to your activity summary when you're done. To get started, download the route library to your watch from the COROS app > Profile page > select your watch > scroll down to Climbing Route Library. Click here to learn more about this feature.
Currently available for routes in the United States. Support for more regions coming soon.
Updates to Outdoor Climb Mode
We've introduced several new features to make tracking your Outdoor Climbs more intuitive:
- A new Rest phase is available after recording an Approach. Now, your watch will prompt you to either start the Climb or select "Preparation" to rest before beginning your ascent.
- New Shortcuts are available for the Back button, such as Transition (to quickly switch between Climb and Rest phases).
- Crop activities in the app to remove unwanted time/distance from the end of your activity. When viewing the activity summary in your COROS app, open the overflow menu (three dots in the top right corner) and select the Crop option.
Updates to Bouldering Mode
Bouldering mode can now track each route automatically, so you don’t have to stop and log your details in the moment. Set up automatic route detection by opening Bouldering mode, then scrolling down to "Climb-Detect" and toggling this ON.
During your session, you have the flexibility to edit each route grade later if needed, during the Rest phase.
When you're done climbing, enhanced route and grade distribution charts in the COROS app make it easier to analyze your session.
Heart Rate Recovery
Get insights into your cardiovascular fitness by seeing how efficiently your body recovers immediately after exercise. Your COROS watch now automatically measures your Heart Rate Recovery 2 minutes after completing your activity, and during rest phases of a run workout.
Airplane Mode
Quickly disable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and related features on your watch. Open the System menu and scroll down to toggle on Airplane Mode. Click here to view a list of features that are disabled when Airplane Mode is activated.
Battery Health Page
See your device's battery usage at a glance, now directly in your COROS app. Head to the Profile page, select your device, and scroll down to Battery Health. Here you can view your typical usage trends over the past seven days, see which features are consuming the most battery, and view estimated GPS hours and days of use remaining. See a detailed breakdown of everything in the Battery Health page by clicking here.
With the new Battery Health dashboard, your watch's Battery Usage widget is still available in the Toolbox menu, but the detailed usage stats can now only be accessed from the app, not on the watch.
If critical hardware failure is detected, a banner will appear in the Battery Health page to notify you and help you get in contact with our team for further analysis.
View Activity Details In-Progress
While tracking an activity, open your COROS app to the first page to see a new In-Progress Activity summary, viewable after your first pause and updated each subsequent pause.
More Updates
Customize email settings for Safety Alerts: You can now choose whether or not an automatic email is sent to your emergency contacts when you start tracking an activity. Previously, an email was always sent to your contacts including a link to follow your live location during the activity. Now, you have the option to toggle this off. This setting not impact your ability to trigger an SOS alert mid-activity. To make adjustments, go to the Profile page in your COROS app and open the Safety Alerts menu.
Pace Strategy optimization: It's now easier to see at a glance if you're ahead or behind your target pace while following a Pace Strategy.
Treadmill speed: You can now increase the treadmill speed up to 25 kilometers per hour when your watch is set to metric units.
POD 2 and Gym Cardio: Your Gym Cardio workouts can now have the POD 2 connected on the foot and have Distance data tracked and displayed in the post-workout summary.
Zwift optimizations: Completed workouts that are automatically imported from Zwift to your COROS account will now receive a "Zwift" prefix, so they can be more easily recognized in your activity list.
