Pairing to Other Devices
If you are pairing the Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) to a COROS watch, go to System > Accessories > Add Bluetooth > and then select the HRM. Make sure you are wearing the HRM on your bicep during the pairing process to activate pairing mode. In the event the HRM disconnects or has a low battery, the watch will automatically reactivate its Optical Heart Rate (OHR) sensor.
If you are pairing the HRM to another device, the process is similar. Simply navigate to the Bluetooth menu on that device while wearing the HRM, and proceed to search for and add the device. Be sure to consult the device's user manual to confirm that it supports pairing with Bluetooth accessories, as the HRM does not support ANT+ connections. Follow any specific instructions for connecting external devices provided by the manufacturer.
If the HRM is able to pair, but frequently disconnects from the other device, please check that the HRM is only connected to a maximum of 3 devices at once. If this limit is exceeded, the HRM may disconnect from all devices.
If you are still having issues pairing, please charge the HRM for 2 hours. Then, disconnect from power and place a finger over the heart rate sensor. You should see green lights flashing from the back of the sensor, indicating it is in pairing mode. Please try the pairing process again. If this does not work, try restarting the HRM by following the steps at the bottom of this article.
Connecting to the COROS App
To pair the HRM with the COROS app, please wear the HRM on your bicep to activate pairing mode. Then, open the app to the Profile page and select Add New Device > Pair via Bluetooth > wait for the phone to detect the HRM nearby.
Currently, the COROS app does not support recording heart rate data natively . To utilize the HRM with your phone, you will need to use a compatible app such as Polar or Strava.

Inaccurate Heart Rate Measurements
The COROS Heart Rate Monitor uses an optical heart rate (OHR) sensor, which estimates heart rate by emitting light into to area directly into the skin and then measuring the amount of light reflected or scattered by blood flow.
To get the best measurements from your HRM, make sure to wear the device properly, between your bicep and deltoid muscles. Wear the HRM as snug as possible without being uncomfortable so it does not move or slide during your workout. For more details on how to wear the HRM, please see our article here: How to get the best data from my COROS Heart Rate Monitor
To ensure accurate readings, make sure to regularly clean the sensor by rinsing it under fresh water and gently drying with a lint-free cloth.
On COROS watches, you can check if the HRM is connected properly if your heart rate data field says "EXT" (for "external" heart rate strap). If this is missing, the HRM may be connected and the watch is relying on its built-in optical HR sensor instead.
Restarting the Heart Rate Monitor
Some issues can be resolved by restarting your HRM. To do so, follow these steps:
- Plug the HRM into the charging cable.
- As soon as the orange light appears, remove the charging cable.
- Wait 2-3 seconds and plug in the cable again.
- Repeat the plug-unplug cycle 5 times.
- When you unplug the cable for the 5th time, the orange light should flicker several times, followed by a steady green light. This indicates the restart was successful.
