Syncing a route to DURA
To use navigation on DURA, you will first need to sync a route to your watch. Routes can be created directly within the COROS app on the Explore page, or you can import routes from another platform or race website. Learn more here: How to Download Routes
Select a route by going to the Explore page in the app and opening your route library. Once you choose your desired route, click Sync to send it to DURA.
Note: We recommend uploading routes that are no more than 2,000 kilometers long. If your route is longer, please consider breaking it up into smaller individual routes.
Following a route on DURA
When you are ready to follow a route and track an activity, scroll to Navigation. Select your route, then choose your desired activity mode (Road, Gravel, MTB, E-Bike, or E-MTB).
Navigate to Start: If you are between 0.2 - 100 kilometers away from the starting point of the route, DURA can generate a course to follow so you can navigate to the start. Simply long-press the Back button, scroll to Navigation, and select "Navigate to Start." (Make sure your COROS app is open in the background so DURA can use smart rerouting to guide you to the starting point.)
You can also begin following a route in the middle of an activity that is already being tracked. To do so, long press the Back button, scroll to Navigation, and choose your route. Your DURA will automatically jump to your current location along the route. Similarly, you can end a route early by following the same steps listed above (after opening the Navigation widget, select End Course).
Before starting a route, you can customize navigation settings:
- Climb: Select this to preview the overall elevation profile along with the distance and grade of specific climb segments along the route.
- Route Details: Preview the distance, elevation gain, and elevation loss.
- Direction: Choose to follow the route in the positive (normal) or reverse direction.
- Deviate Alert: Toggle on alerts to let you know when you go off course. If you are deviated from the route for 100 meters and over 10 seconds, the off-route alert will kick in. DURA will display a dotted line to show you the shortest distance back to the route. If your phone is nearby with the COROS app running the background, DURA can also reroute you with turn directions. Read more about this feature in the Rerouting section below.
- Split Screen: Toggle this on to view your map/navigation screen and data fields simultaneously. The map/navigation will remain in top two-thirds of the screen even as you scroll between pages. The bottom third of the screen will rotate between 2 data fields at a time. You can customize what data is displayed during Split Screen mode by opening the COROS app to the Profile page > select DURA > Activity Settings > select bike mode > Split Screen.
- Turn by Turn: Toggle on automatic turn reminders to guide you through the route. When this is enabled, you will see an arrow appear on the watch screen when you are a short distance away from the next turn. A bar will appear at the bottom of the screen that counts down from 200 meters until you reach the turn.
While following a route, an extra page will appear by default to show your position along the route in real-time. Use the touch screen to press the + and - symbols to zoom in and out of the map. Swipe with your finger or scroll with the dial to go back to your regular data pages.
To customize the orientation of the map as you are following the route, long press the Back button and scroll to System > More Settings > Map Direction. Heading Up will display the current direction of the route you are following in the 12 o'clock position of DURA screen, while North Up will keep north in the 12 o'clock position.
Instant Navigation
With Instant Navigation, you can choose any location on your phone and send an auto-generated route directly to DURA to take you there. Simply open your COROS app to the Explore page, find your desired location, and long-press that location on the map. Select "Navigation" and follow the prompts to sync the route and follow the route on your DURA.
Rerouting
If you are following a route and go off course, DURA will automatically display a dotted line to show you the shortest distance to get back on course.
However, if your phone is nearby with the COROS app running in the background, DURA will prompt you "Reroute back to destination”. If you select this option, DURA will use map data from the COROS app to calculate the safest way back to the planned route, including turn directions to guide you back on course.
Back to Start
If you need to find your way back to the starting point of your ride, DURA can direct you, even if you're not already following a route. Simply long-press the Back button, scroll to Navigation, then choose "Back to Start." You can either follow your GPS points in reverse to return to your starting point, or DURA can generate a new route via smart rerouting if your COROS app is open in the background.
