Preview Climb Details for Bike Activities
Preparing for a hard day of climbing is key, whether you are biking an unfamiliar route or wanting to conquer a new PR on a familiar road.
When you import a bike route to your COROS app or create a cycling route in the Explore page, the route will automatically include climb details. Once your route is saved, select "Climb Details" to preview the breakdown of each major climb.
Depending on the distance and slope of each section, your route will be separated into major climbs. Each climb is color-coded to give you an idea of the easier (yellow) and harder (dark red) sections, with green indicating a flat or downhill section. The difficulty of climbs is calculated based on a combination of distance and slope. You can click through the various climbs to view this information in more detail.
When you open the Navigation menu on DURA, you can select your route and scroll to Climb to preview these same details on DURA.
Real-Time Climb Information for Bike Activities
DURA does not automatically detect climbs unless you are using navigation.
When following a route, DURA will alert you when you begin a new climb section and when you finish the section.
- When you are beginning a climb, the on-screen prompt shows you the distance, average grade, and climb number (ex: climb 2 out of 6 for the current route)
- When you are finishing the climb, the on-screen prompt shows you total time, average grade, total elevation gain for the climb, climb distance, and climb number
By default, a climb preview page will be displayed if your route contains any major climbs. Scroll away from your regular data pages to view the climb preview page.
Tip: Customize your activity data pages ahead of time to view a real-time elevation profile.
