At this time, and after 4+ years of regular and consistent updates, we announce that the flash storage on all COROS Pace 2, Apex Pro 1, and VERTIX 1 watches have since reached their maximum capacities. As a result, these units will no longer be able to receive additional firmware and feature updates moving forward.
With that said, we can confirm that app-based software updates will continue to be sent to all COROS users, which will make all further optimizations made to the COROS App accessible to our entire community. We make it a top priority to ensure these app updates are continuously released to all COROS accounts, so that we can provide the maximum value possible for our userbase far beyond the point of purchase.
FAQ's
Unfortunately, users are unable to downgrade firmware or choose which features they would like to receive on their watch. Each firmware release is specific to each watch model, and builds from one update to the next. Therefore, downgrading firmware / removing features could inhibit other functionalities offered by our products, thereby potentially compromising the overall user experience.
After 4-5 years of consistent updates, the flash memory on each of these units has reached it's internal capacity, which prevents the device from accepting / storing any additional firmware. The internal hardware on all smartwatches will eventually reach this limit, and we are proud to have keep these devices active and relevant for such a long duration, and will continue to strive for this goal with all COROS devices.
Absolutely! At this time, these watch models will continue to receive new firmware and feature updates, and our team will ensure that our community is notified when any of these new updates are released.
