Update Your COROS App and Watch Before September 16

COROS is renewing its standard connection certificates on September 16, 2026. As part of this regular maintenance, the COROS app and your watch firmware both need to be current to keep communicating with our servers.

Who is affected?

  1. iPhone users running a COROS app version older than V4.9.11
  2. PACE 3, PACE 4, PACE Pro, COROS NOMAD, APEX 2/2 Pro, APEX 4, VERTIX 2/2S with a firmware older than V3.1816.0

What happens if I don't update?

After September 16:

  • iPhone app versions older than V4.9.11 can't connect to COROS or sync your watch. The Android app isn't affected.
  • Watch firmware older than V3.1816.0 on PACE 3, PACE 4, PACE Pro, COROS NOMAD, APEX 2/2 Pro, APEX 4, VERTIX 2/2S can't use Wi-Fi features, including map downloads, firmware updates and data upload over Wi-Fi. If your device is not in this list, it is not affected.

To check which app version you have, open the COROS app to the Profile page > Settings > App Version. To check your device firmware version, go to the Profile page > select your device > Firmware Version.

How to update

  1. Update the COROS app
    • Open the App Store on your iPhone, or Google Play on Android.
    • Search for COROS and tap Update. (Don't see Update? Tap your profile icon at the top right of the App Store and pull down to refresh.)
  2. Update your watch
    • Open the COROS app and make sure your watch is connected.
    • Go to Profile page, select your watch, and tap Update Now.
    • Follow the on-screen steps to finish installing.

You will need to update the app before you can update your watch firmware.

FAQs

What if I miss the date, and I don't update before September 16?

You can still update your app and/or device firmware after September 16.

  • Affected iPhone users: You may experience app connectivity issues or data syncing issues. To fix this, go to the App Store on your phone and update the COROS app to V4.9.11 or newer to resume normal functions. Do not uninstall the app.
  • Affected devices: Your watch will continue working normally, with the exception of downloading maps or syncing activities via WiFi. To fix this, you can still update your COROS app from the App Store and update your watch firmware via Bluetooth at any time. Wi-Fi features will resume on your device after the update is done.

Will I lose any data?
No. Everything you've synced is stored in your COROS account. If you recorded any activities on your watch that are not syncing to the app, do not uninstall the app or reset your watch. Instead, please take photos of the unsynced workouts from your watch's history widget, and contact our support team so we can assist.

Was my account compromised?
No. Security certificates have a set expiration date and are replaced on a schedule. Your account and data are unaffected.

I opened the app recently. Do I still need to update?
We sent a configuration change to the app on September 12–13 that moves many older versions over automatically. Updating to V4.9.11 is still the surest way to keep connecting.
