The AMOLED touch screen on PACE Pro delivers an enhanced experience with improved visibility and a wider range of options for customizing your display settings. From the main menu on PACE Pro, scroll to System > More Settings > Display to view the following options:
Brightness
This setting adjusts the brightness level on the watch screen. Standard brightness is recommended, but High and Max levels are also available. Selecting High or Max will increase battery consumption.
PACE Pro will adjust the brightness automatically based on your environment, while still remaining within the range specified in your watch settings. This helps optimize battery life, while providing ideal visibility in all environments. Maximum brightness (for the display setting you've selected) will be provided in bright settings, while a slightly dimmer brightness output will be provided in dark settings.
Always On
When this setting is toggled ON, PACE Pro's screen will remain illuminated. During activities, the screen will become dimmed when your wrist is lowered, and in standby mode, the watch face will dim and become less busy so you can still view the time of day (but not daily data).
Note: Even if Always On is enabled, the screen will automatically turn off when you're not wearing the watch or when sleep is detected.
Gesture Backlight
When this setting is toggled ON, the backlight is activated whenever the watch detects a wrist raise. When your wrist is turned down, the backlight will turn off.
Note: Even if Gesture Backlight is toggled OFF, the backlight will turn on if the watch receives activity alerts, notifications, or if either of the buttons are manually operated.
The battery specifications for PACE Pro are based on the following settings:
- Display brightness level: Standard
- Always On: OFF
- Gesture Backlight (Standby): OFF
- Gesture Backlight (Activity): ON
However, these options are customizable within the watch's System > More Settings > Display menu. Keep in mind that increasing the brightness or display time will negatively impact battery performance.
Brightness
- Standard
- Best for normal use and optimal battery performance
- All battery specs are based on using Standard display brightness
- High
- Balance of good visibility and good battery performance
- Max
- Will increase battery consumption significantly
Always On
When Always On is toggled OFF:
- 20 days daily battery life
- 38 hours in All Systems GPS mode / 31 hours in Dual Frequency GPS mode
When Always On is toggled ON:
- 6 days daily battery life when enabled
- 28 hours in All Systems GPS mode / 24 hours in Dual Frequency GPS mode
With AMOLED displays, more energy is required to display a lighter color. (Power consumption can increase as much as 3x with lighter backgrounds.) However, darker colors don't require as much energy. This is why black backgrounds are primarily used to maximize battery life.
PACE Pro comes with a COROS charging adapter that works with any standard USB-C cable. To view details about charging your PACE Pro, please click here for more information.
Our priority is delivering the most accurate data possible for athletes, because we know that the quality of your GPS and heart rate data directly impacts the accuracy of all your fitness and recovery metrics. With the PACE Pro, we were able to achieve an impressive 38 hours of battery life using our All Systems GPS mode thanks to an energy-efficient processor and optimized hardware design. Given this high level of performance, we found that standard GPS mode was unnecessary, allowing us to deliver the most precise data and long-lasting battery.
PACE Pro automatically enters Sleep mode after the sleep start time specified in your COROS app (Profile page > Settings > Sleep Start Time).
During Sleep mode, the watch display turns off, and the watch automatically enters Do Not Disturb mode. While in Sleep mode, the display will only turn on at the following times:
- One of the buttons is manually pressed (the display is dimmed to display the date and time)
- A button is pressed two or more times in a row (the display illuminates at full brightness until it times out and returns to standby mode)
After sleep is tracked and the watch detects that you have woken up, the display and brightness will resume normal settings.
In certain bright environments, cameras may struggle to clearly capture the PACE Pro display due to the AMOLED display refresh rate and camera shutter speed. This may result in photos and videos showing black horizontal lines, or the startup QR code not being properly registered. Please move to a darker environment or change the angle that PACE Pro is oriented to better capture the display on camera.
The processor on PACE Pro is our fastest yet:
- 2x faster than PACE 3
- 3x faster map zoom than APEX 2 / 2 Pro
- 3x more RAM than PACE 3
PACE Pro works with 22mm quick release bands.
While PACE 3 and APEX 2 Pro bands are compatible with PACE Pro, we recommend using the bands specific for PACE Pro. This is especially true for the PACE Pro silicone bands, which are form fitting with the watch body.
