    • Use the touchscreen or buttons to toggle and select your desired bike mode.
  2. Start tracking
    • From the Start screen, you can scroll down to customize your activity alerts (like heart rate and nutrition), pair to sensors, and more.
    • For outdoor rides, wait until DURA indicates that you have a strong GPS signal (indicated by a solid satellite signal icon) before you press Start.
    • After pressing Start, DURA 2 SOLAR will begin tracking your distance, speed, elevation gain, and more during the ride.
  3. Finish and save

Activity Modes on DURA 2 SOLAR

For each of the bike modes below, you can customize unique data pages and metrics, activity alerts, and activity settings that are specific to that mode.

  • Road: Track your outdoor road rides.
  • Gravel: Track your outdoor gravel or cyclocross rides.
  • Indoor: Track your indoor rides on the trainer/turbo. We recommend pairing DURA 2 Solar with external sensors to receive speed and distance data, since GPS is not used in Indoor Bike mode.
  • MTB: Track your outdoor mountain bike rides.
  • E-Bike and E-MTB: Track your outdoor e-bike rides. Data recorded with these bike profiles will count towards your personal records, including distance and elevation gain records.

Customize Activity Data Pages

You can customize each activity mode with the specific data pages and metrics that you want to see. To get started, open your COROS app to the Profile page (fourth tab), select your DURA 2 SOLAR, then open the Activity Settings menu.

Select your desired bike mode, then select Activity Data Pages. Choose from unique layouts, charts, and data fields to curate the specific data that you need.

During your ride, you can also customize data fields on-device. Long press one of your data fields, and you can select from other supported metrics to replace it, while your activity is still tracking in the background.

For more details on editing your activity data pages, please see Customizing Activity Data Pages on DURA.

Horizontal Pages

During an activity, swiping horizontally on the touchscreen will toggle between full screen Media Control and other additional pages. In the Profile page of the app, select your device and scroll to Activity Settings to choose which pages appear (and in what order) when you swipe between horizontal pages during an activity. Hide pages you do not need, such as Media or Camera Control, and keep the ones you use. The Map is also available to add as a horizontal page if you would prefer to access it there instead of as a vertical page.

If you prefer to use a physical button instead of swiping across the touchscreen, you can also customize the left side button on DURA 2 SOLAR to perform horizontal page switching. To do so, open the app to the Profile page > select your device > select Activity Settings.

Activity Alerts

To set an activity alert, open your desired activity mode on DURA 2 SOLAR. Before pressing Start, scroll down to the Activity Alert menu and select from Distance, Speed, Cadence, Heart Rate, Nutrition, and Power. Please keep in mind some Activity Alerts require connecting external sensors, such as a power meter or heart rate monitor, in order to receive data.

If you have activity alerts enabled, DURA 2 SOLAR will alert you if you reach the preset distance/time, or if you are outside of the preset range, based on your alert settings.

Auto Pause

From the activity start menu, scroll down to Auto Pause, so DURA 2 SOLAR will automatically pause your ride when it detects 0 speed. It will resume recording when your speed increases again.

You can also set a Custom Speed for Auto Pause. During your ride, if your speed drops to or below the Custom Speed set in your device settings, the ride will automatically pause. It will resume again once you begin moving faster than the specified speed.

Auto Lap

From the activity start menu, scroll down to Auto Lap to receive alerts and mark laps during your ride.

Auto Lap provides two functions: 1) It alerts you at a specified distance or position, and 2) It creates a lap in your activity at a specified distance or position, and begins a new lap on your DURA.

You can create Auto Laps either by distance (such as every 5 miles / 5 kilometers) or by position (whenever you return to a designated GPS location). Click here to learn more about Auto Laps.

Navigation

DURA 2 SOLAR offers several navigation features:

  1. Follow a saved route: Routes can be created directly in the COROS app, synced from third parties (such as Strava, RideWithGPS, and more), or uploaded from GPX files. For more information on creating and importing routes, please see Downloading and Syncing Routes to DURA.
  2. Navigate to starting point of a route: If you start following a route, and you are between 0.2 - 100 kilometers away from the starting point, DURA 2 SOLAR will automatically notify you and offer to create a course to follow to take you there.
  3. Re-routing: If you are following a route and go off course, DURA 2 SOLAR can generate a new route and direct you to get back on course.

  4. Instant navigation: If you need directions to a specific location, but don't have time to build a route in advance, use Instant Navigation to create a route instantly. From the home screen on DURA 2 SOLAR, open the Navigation menu. Toggle to the Pin menu to generate a route from your current location to one of your saved Pins (these are synced from the Explore page in your COROS app).
  5. Offline navigation: With offline navigation files downloaded, you can use re-routing and Navigate to Start without a network connection. You can also receive route-less Climb details: view nearby climbs and see your progress along the current climb without needing to follow a route.
  6. Back to start / Navigate back to start: If you need to find your way back to where you started your ride, DURA 2 SOLAR can direct you - no need to have a pre-planned route. Simply press the Pause button (the right side button), then scroll to Navigation. Use "Back to Start" to retrace your GPS track, or use "Navigate to Start" to generate a new course based on known paths/roads.
  7. Climb Alerts: Preview upcoming climbs along a route, get notified when you start a climb, and see your real-time progress along the current climb.

GPS Modes

DURA 2 SOLAR offers three satellite mode options. You can change the GPS mode by swiping down from the top of the screen to open Control Center, then selecting "Satellite Systems."

  • High: Uses All Systems GPS. This is the recommend satellite mode for most scenarios.
  • Max: Uses Dual Frequency. This mode is recommended if you are moving through areas with difficult GPS conditions, such as cities, urban areas, forests, or canyons.
  • Auto: DURA intelligently chooses the best satellite setting based on the conditions to both optimize battery life and ensure a strong signal.
