Using Navigation on DURA and DURA 2 SOLAR

Navigation Features

DURA and DURA 2 SOLAR support various navigation features, including Climb Alerts, re-routing, Back to Start, and more. These features require an active connection between DURA/DURA 2 SOLAR and your phone, with the COROS app running in the background.

Syncing Routes

Routes can be created directly from the Explore page in the COROS app, or imported from third party apps and race websites. Learn more here: How to Download Routes

Select a route by going to the Explore page in the app and opening your route library folder. Choose your desired route, then select Send to Device to sync it to DURA/DURA 2 SOLAR.

Note: We recommend uploading routes that are no more than 2,000 kilometers long. If your route is longer, please consider breaking it up into smaller individual routes.

Following Routes

You can start following a route before you start a ride, or in the middle of a ride.

  • From the home screen: Scroll down to the Navigation menu, select your desired bike profile, then select one of your saved routes.
  • While tracking a ride: Press the Pause button to open the pause menu. Select Navigation, then choose one of your saved routes. On DURA, the Pause button is the dial. On DURA 2 SOLAR, the Pause button is the right side button. Your device will automatically jump you to your current location along the route - or if you're close to the starting point, it will can generate a route to take you there.

To view your route and see where you're headed, scroll through your activity data pages until you see the Map page.

While following a route, you will receive turn alerts (if enabled in navigation settings - see below), climb alerts, and off-course alerts.

Navigation Settings

With a route selected on your bike computer, scroll down to view the following navigation details and settings:

  1. Route Details: Preview the distance, elevation gain, and elevation loss.
  2. Climb: Select this to preview the overall elevation profile, along with the distance and grade of specific climb segments along the route.
    • On DURA 2 SOLAR, you can also view nearby climbs and see your real-time progress along a climb from the Map page, without following a route. Please see our article on using offline navigation to learn how to use this feature.
  3. Direction: Select to follow the route in the Positive (regular) or Reverse direction.
  4. Off Route Settings: Choose from Auto Reroute, Manual Reroute, or No Reroute.
    • Auto Reroute requires your phone to be nearby with cell service. It will direct you back to route based on known roads/paths. If you have offline navigation downloaded, you do not need cell service in order for Auto Reroute to work.
    • No Reroute will simply alert you that you are off course, without prompting you to take action.
  5. Turn by Turn: Toggle on automatic turn reminders to guide you through the route. When this is enabled, the map screen with a turn indicator and street/trail name will appear when you are a short distance away from the next turn. A progress bar also appears that counts down from 200 meters until you reach the turn.

If you need directions to a specific location, but don't have time to build a route in advance, use Instant Navigation to generate a route.

On your phone: Choose any location on your phone and send an auto-generated route directly to DURA or DURA 2 SOLAR to take you there.

  • Open your COROS app to the Explore page, find your desired location, and long-press that location on the map. Select "Navigation" and follow the prompts to sync the route and follow the route on your device.
  • Or, mark an address or pin in the Google Maps or Apple Maps app. Click the Share button to share the location with other apps, then select the COROS app. When the COROS app opens, choose "Navigation" and follow the prompts to sync the route to your device.

On DURA 2 SOLAR: From the home screen, open the Navigation menu. Toggle to the Pin menu to generate a route from your current location to one of your saved locations (these are synced from the Explore page in your COROS app). Or select the search bar at the top to speak an address or location, and DURA 2 SOLAR will search for nearby results. Select one to generate a route from your current location to that destination.
